Wheelie Safe KIDS is a program which offers participating schools interactive, hands on cycle safety program. This program is flexible and versatile, understanding that different road and traffic safety issues are present in different communities. This program can be delivered anywhere in Australia, adaptable to rural, urban and remote communities. The program focuses on getting students on bikes and allowing them to actively develop safe cycling skills. Although many children can ride, learning techniques for riding in traffic and practising bike handling skills will dramatically improve
BALANCING
Staying balanced and being able to keep the bike upright when riding in a straight line or leaning into a corner is crucial for safe riding.
A rider needs to learn when and how to shift their weight over the bike to maintain traction, stay upright and steer effectively.
Helmet
To keep you safe while Riding a bike you always have to to wear an Australian Standard approved Helmet
BRAKING & STOPPING
In all types of cycling, both on and off-road, being able to apply the brakes smoothly to slow down or come to a complete stop is an essential cycling skill. Riders can be faced with a range of braking situations depending upon riding surface, obstacles and weather conditions.

WHO IS THE PEDAL POWER BEHIND

Pete Murray has designed the Wheelie Safe KIDS program. He has been a Primary School (Bachelor. Of Education) teacher in NSW for over 25 years and has the enthusiasm and passion for educating children of all ages and understands what it takes to deliver a quality educational program to highlight the major focus of the program. Pete Murray is a father of three, all who display a total love of sport and maintaining an active and healthy lifestyle, just like Pete himself.
Living in the beautiful NSW coastal town of Port Macquarie, Pete Murray is considered one of the world's leading Ironman Triathion and multisport commentators. As the "Voice" of Ironman Oceania and Ironman Asia, Pete is also part of the World Championship team that delivers the iconic Ironman in Hawaii each October plus other annual World Championships events throughout the sporting world.
As an athlete, Pete has represented Australia as an age group athlete at World Championship events in Japan, Hawaii and Canada in triathlon. With over 250 race finishes, Pete really knows the skills required for safe cycling.
Pete Murray's passion is evident with everything he does and he continually provides everyone regardless of age, the feeling of success, something that we all love. Wheelie Safe Kids is a program that our youth with absolutely love and learn the importance of bike safety and the concept of promoting a healthy and active lifestyle through our youth.
